Homemade Omega-3 Powder

I make some of this up in bulk every few days to mix into oatmeal, smoothies, chocolate milkshakes, muffins, soup, rice or quinoa, etc.  I grind it very fine so my kids (who object to any kind of seedy texture) don’t even know it’s in there!


  • 2 Tbsp flaxseeds
  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp walnuts

Note: This amount fits perfectly in my coffee bean grinder.  I usually make at least 2 – 4 batches at a time for storing.


  1. Add all the ingredients to a spice (or coffee bean) grinder and grind into a fine powder.
  2. Store at room temperature in an air-tight container and add to all your favorite recipes!
